OCDE-ITF: Forum International des Transports
ABOUT THE CONFERENCE
The 6th International Conference on Weigh-In-Motion (ICWIM6) will be held in conjunction with the North American Travel Monitoring Exposition and Conference (NATMEC’2012), on June 4-7, 2012 in Dallas, Texas, USA.
The conference is designed to address a broad range of technical issues related to weighing vehicles in motion, including providing access to the latest research and emerging technologies, analysis and application of the WIM data for improving transportation systems.
The combined conference will provide a unique opportunity for traffic monitoring professionals from around the globe to meet, exchange information and address shared challenges. It is envisioned that the technical issues addressed in ICWIM6 will be well-aligned with the theme of the NATMEC'2012: improving traffic data collection, analysis and use.
The NATMEC/ICWIM6 conferences will continue the tradition of successful events that bring weigh-in-motion to the spotlight. ICWIM have been held every three or four years since 1995. The first joint NATMEC/ICWIM6 conference was held in Orlando in 2002. NATMEC is held every two years, in North America. The NATMEC conferences began as WIM conferences in the late 1970’s.
In 2012, ICWIM6 will be offered as a series of dedicated sessions in parallel with the NATMEC’2012 sessions. A few common plenary sessions will welcome keynote papers. Registration will cover both conferences and delegates will be allowed to attend any session. It is a multi-disciplinary, inter-agency supported event.
